about

Wake Up is a mini album that developed over a number of years in my at the time bedroom-loft at my parents house in Brighton. I was 18-21 when it started to take shape, and a theme of us waking up to our subconscious, dreams and vulnerabilities took hold. Facing fear, questioning, loving and making our fantasies come true were all motives that inspired the songs.

I was glad to have wonderful string players help illuminate the tracks, as well as other fine players! This LP ended up being more of a process and diary than a big release, and in that way I would like to share it and put this chapter to a close!

The artwork is a photograph I took on film in Paris; a trip that solidified the album, and that featured a music video for 'Breathe', by Emika Ohta.
Also would like to mention the one track that wasn't recorded in my room; 'Fall', which came together at the Roundhouse Studios in July with a great team. The track 'Blink Away' is a slight hint for what's to come!

Love to everyone involved; this album is free for all to download.

Here's a poem I wrote on the 7th of October 2015 at the age of 18

Wake Up
Wake up from your dogmatic slumbers, or whatever that means to you... This is not a demand, or an enforcement of an ideology, but a simple call I share. To those who feel trapped in monotony, fear change, feel ashamed, conform to an end, afraid to confront, step to one trend, feel all alone, bewildered by it all. I shall not tell you what to do, but to wake up, to whatever sits behind the stiff door, under the cracks in your bed, inside your head, or dead in the shed. As crude as a lost shrewd, or as beautiful as porcelain laced alleys of fire and gold; I would say, don't sit and waste. Seize the day, whether filled with decay, or light beside the hay.
